Welcome to the CUGCR Website

The Cambridge University Guild of Change Ringers was formed in 1879 to practise the art of change ringing. Today we are an active student society who organise many ringing and social events throughout the year.

We ring at several churches within Cambridge, and welcome ringers of all abilities. To find out more about the Guild, explore this website, e-mail secretary@cugcr.org.uk, or feel free to join us at one of our practices.

New Freshers

Posted 26th August

Many congratulations if you have secured the results needed to come to Cambridge in the Autumn – we very much look forward to ringing with you soon. The CUGCR is a very active society, both ringing-wise and socially. We cater for all abilities from beginners to active peal-ringers and therefore hope to offer many opportunities for anyone wishing to join.

We will be at the Freshers’ Fair, so do come and meet us there.

Alternatively, you could come along to our first practice at St Andrew’s (StAG) from 19.30-21.00 on Thursday October 9th and/or to St Bene’t's on Friday evening. Both practices will be followed by either a party or a visit to the pub!

You can also get in touch with us by email. Both our Master (Jonathan Agg, master@cugcr.org.uk) and our Secretary (Freddie Manners, secretary@cugcr.org.uk) will be delighted to hear from you in advance and will be happy to answer any questions that you might have.

For now, sit back and enjoy the rest of your summer, and maybe take a look around this site to find out about our practices and special events, which will be featured on the term card (to be posted during September). Please keep an eye out for the Freshers’ info sheet, which will be on here soon, and will summarise everything you need to know.
