Welcome to the CUGCR Website

The Cambridge University Guild of Change Ringers was formed in 1879 to practise the art of change ringing. Today we are an active student society who organise many ringing and social events throughout the year.

We ring at several churches within Cambridge, and welcome ringers of all abilities. To find out more about the Guild, explore this website, e-mail secretary@cugcr.org.uk, or feel free to join us at one of our practices.

Cycle Outing

Posted 3rd September

The annual freshers’ cycle outing will take place on Saturday 17th October.

The programme for the day is:

10.45 Meet outside GSM to cycle
11.30-12.30 St Mary the Virgin, Great Shelford 8 8-2-19
12.30 Lunch somewhere in Great Shelford
14.30-15.15 All Saints, Little Shelford 6 8-3-19
15.45-16.30 St Mary and St Michael, Trumpington 8 10-2-22

Those without a bike may find the Citi 7 bus route very helpful- £3.30 will buy you a Dayrider which should cover the whole route. If anyone has any suggestions for lunch please let the assistant master know.

This outing is usually a lot of fun, so I hope to see as many of you as possible, even if you can’t manage the whole day. The evening will of course see the traditional college bar crawl, details of which will be released as soon as a plan has been formed.
