As well as the obvious role of maintaining the Guild library the Librarian is also responsible for collection of quarter peal and peal fees, keeping records in the Guild Touch Book and sending quarter peals to the Ringing World.

The life of a Nat-Sci is never quiet, and so Helen found when she was volunteered to ring in the handbell touch of Stedman Cinques at the dinner in Lent term, a challenge which, despite never having rung handbells or Stedman before, she took on with undaunted spirit and deserved success; and, without compromising a busy academic and social life, she has nevertheless managed to make a regular and enthusiastic contribution to Guild life and has been able to take this keen progress back home with her to Herefordshire. Perhaps proximity of the Guild librarian to the Guild library this year will encourage a greater interest in our collection of relevant (and less relevant) material.
