The Master is basically responsible for running the Guild. This includes running service ringing and practices, organising peals and quarter peals, and also giving a speech at the annual dinner.

The Guild was doubly keen to welcome Max in 2009, being not only an established ringer but, more importantly, an arts student who would help to break up the monopoly of Mathmos that had emerged in previous years.
Max learned to ring at Leckhampton, near Cheltenham, in 2002 and rang his first peal in 2005. That he to date has only a single Guild peal to his name, from November 2009, owes more to mechanical failure than a lack of enthusiasm.
Max is an avid investigator of less conventional rings of bells and has great plans for All Saints in Jesus Lane.
