The special events for this term, plus details of the regular ringing schedule, are listed on our termcard - further details will be circulated in due course. There will of course be numerous formals, curries, peals, quarter peals and other social activities organised as time progresses...

FRESHERS...

Posted 16th August

Congratulations on getting your A-level results and gaining a place to study at Cambridge. The CUG will do its very best to distract you from your work. We ring regularly on both tower and hand bells as well as getting together for lots of social events. We can often be found in the pub, both after practices and in general, and always get together after Sunday service ringing for breakfast. Feel free to come along to as much or as little as you like. We cater for all abilities from beginners to active peal ringers and therefore hope to offer many opportunities for anyone wishing to join.

We will be at the Freshers' Fair, so do come and meet us there. Alternatively, you could come along to our first practice at St Andrew's (StAG) from 19.30-21.00 on Thursday October 5th and then to St Bene't's on Friday evening. Thursday's practice will be followed by the Freshers' Squash (an event not to be missed!). You can also get in touch with us by email. Both myself (Luke, master@cugcr.org.uk) and our secretary (Tessa, secretary@cugcr.org.uk) are happy to answer any questions that you might have.

For now, sit back and enjoy the rest of your summer, and maybe take a look around this site to find out about our practices and special events, which will be featured on the term card (to be posted at the end of August). Please keep an eye out for the Freshers' info sheet, which will be on here soon, and will summarise everything you need to know.

Cheese, Wine and Handbells

Posted 12th May

There will be an evening of cheese, wine and handbells (in varying quantities) on Friday May 19th, to be held in the Master's room, kicking off at 7ish. It'll be a great opportunity to relax and escape revision, with the added chance to have a go on the handbells (all abilities welcome!)

I'll provide bread, nibbles, the odd soft drink and some kind of suitable summery pudding (or puddings if I'm trying to avoid doing anything productive), so all you need to do is bring a bottle of plonk and some cheese, please. I'd be grateful if you could drop me an email if you're coming so I can gather a suitable amount of cutlery and wine glasses.
