Freddie learned to ring while at Winchester, where his tenure as tower captain saw a reduction in the number of working bells from six to two matched by a parallel decline in the number of ringers. Since joining the Guild in 2008, Freddie has scaled back his ringing activities to attending only the second half of practices, which allows him to devote more of his time to the pub.
Despite enjoying his first experience of firing out a peal on Dinner Day in 2009, Freddie has yet to repeat the occurrence.
