Welcome to the CUGCR Website

The Cambridge University Guild of Change Ringers was formed in 1879 to practise the art of change ringing. Today we are an active student society who organise many ringing and social events throughout the year.

We ring at several churches within Cambridge, and welcome ringers of all abilities. To find out more about the Guild, explore this website, e-mail secretary@cugcr.org.uk, or feel free to join us at one of our practices.

Welcome to new and returning students

Posted 19th September 2014

With the start of term just a few weeks away, the Guild would like to welcome both new and returning students to Cambridge.

The Guild runs a regular cycle of practices (Thursday and Friday nights), plus service ringing on Sundays. See the termcard for more details.
In addition to this, we have several exciting events lined up for the coming term. You can find the CUGCR at the Societies’ Fair on Tuesday 7th / Wednesday 8th October – make your way down to Kelsey Kerridge. There will also be a squash, a cycle outing and an outing to London.

The Guild aims to be a friendly and open society. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an experienced ringer or have never touched a rope before – we’d love to see you at the Societies’ Fair, where you’ll be able to say hello. find out more about the Guild and sign up for email updates. If you have any questions about the Guild, or you just can’t wait until the Societies’ Fair to introduce yourself, feel free to get in touch with one of our officers!
We look forward to welcoming you in October.
