Welcome to the CUGCR Website

The Cambridge University Guild of Change Ringers was formed in 1879 to practise the art of change ringing. Today we are an active student society who organise many ringing and social events throughout the year.

We ring at several churches within Cambridge, and welcome ringers of all abilities. To find out more about the Guild, explore this website, e-mail secretary@cugcr.org.uk, or feel free to join us at one of our practices.

Freshers

Posted 19th August 2010

Congratulations to everyone who’ll be coming to Cambridge in October! If you want to impress other freshers with tales of an exciting and unusual hobby, look no further than CUGCR – we’re a very active society welcoming ringers of all abilities, from complete beginners to active peal-ringers. Needless to say, we also spend a lot of time in the pub!

We’re very friendly (promise), so come and say hello at the Freshers Fair, or just turn up to one of our practices (details of ringing times can be found on this website). Our first practice is at St Andrew’s (StAG) from 19.30-21.00 on Thursday 8th October, and will be followed by a party – a great way to meet the Guild while taking advantage of free food and drink.

In the meantime, please feel free to get in touch: both Catriona (master@cugcr.org.uk) and George (secretary@cugcr.org.uk) would love to hear from you or answer any questions. Look out for the Freshers’ Guide and termcard, which should be posted on the website in September.

Enjoy the rest of your summer – we look forward to meeting and ringing with you soon!
