Welcome to the CUGCR Website

The Cambridge University Guild of Change Ringers was formed in 1879 to practise the art of change ringing. Today we are an active student society who organise many ringing and social events throughout the year.

We ring at several churches within Cambridge, and welcome ringers of all abilities. To find out more about the Guild, explore this website, e-mail secretary@cugcr.org.uk, or feel free to join us at one of our practices.

Ringing at Cambridge – Michaelmas 2012

Posted 21st July 2012

New and returning students and friends:

Anyone coming to study in Cambridge in the new academic year will be warmly welcomed at any or all of our practices whether you’re still learning to handle the rope or splicing surprise – we have everyone in between.

We’ll have a stall at the freshers’ fair, so come and chat to us; or send an e-mail to any of us if you want more information (or just to check that we are as friendly as we say we are) – try the Master or Secretary.

We hope to see you at St Andrew’s on Thursdays (8:00) or St Bene’t's on Fridays (7:30) in term time or at any of the other ringing/social activities we hope you’ll find out about through our mailing list (you can join when you get to Cambridge). We’ll always go for a drink after most practices, but in the first couple of weeks we’ll have an exciting (and free for freshers) squash where we’ll be especially keen to introduce ourselves to you and you to us.
